Vocab Busters

It's time to learn some new words with Activity Village's vocabulary-extending programme - Vocab Busters!

Having a rich vocabulary gives children many benefits. They will be able to express themselves more clearly, both in speaking and writing. They will be able to enjoy a wider range of reading material. Often, the more words they know, the more words they can guess, as they become familiar with roots and prefixes and suffixes. And generally, as vocabulary grows so do thinking skills and confidence. And that's why we have developed our new vocabulary-extending programme - Vocab Busters! We are building up one week at a time until we have a full school-year weekly resource which will help you extend your children's vocabulary and have some fun along the way.

Vocab Busters come in three levels (pick the one you feel most appropriate for your children). Each pack introduces 5 new words for the week in a fun collection of printable activities to be completed over the course of the week - or longer, of course, if you choose. By the end of each pack, children will be confident users of their new vocabulary.

We will be building our Vocab Busters up week by week during school term-time until we have a full school year's worth of resources.

NB We will be following a typical UK school year and UK seasons, holidays and traditions. If you are visiting from outside the UK you may want to pick and choose packs to suit you.
