Octagons are quite a tricky shape to get to grips with, but the kids will have fun learning how to make one with our playdough mat. They can have a go using the blue line as a guide first, then try to make an octagon freehand once they're more confident...
Can the kids use playdough to draw a square using the line as a guideline, and decorate it too? Once they've tried this, they should feel confident enough to make a square shape by themselves too...
Here is a fun idea for learning about hexagons...make them with playdough! You can laminate the mat too so you can reuse it as many times as you like...
Practise making circles out of playdough! Just print the mat and laminate it if you want more than one use...
