Make learning about music hands on fun with these playdough mats. Encourage the children to use different colours and to decorate their musical notes using beads, sequins or feathers. Most importantly, use these as a discussion point for the children and to ensure their understanding of what the musical notes represent.
Look at the pictures, say the words out loud and peg the letter that matches the beginning sound. These Christmas peg cards are fun extra phonics practise for children.
You will need to gather up the musical instruments on the picture cards. Print the picture cards – you might want to laminate them if you are going to use them more than once. Set up a screen or a box so that the children cannot see which instrument you are using.
