Our butterfly shape collage is a pretty way to reinforce shape learning with younger children and of course can be adapted for whatever materials you have on hand.
You will need:
Card or paper (we used metallic)
Pre-cut sticky shapes or cut your own
Glue
Scissors
Instructions:
Draw four oval shapes onto the card you will use for the butterflies wings, and cut out. Draw another elongated oval for the butterfly's body, and cut out.
Glue the pieces together using our photo as a guide.
Now decorate your butterfly with either the pre-cut sticky shapes or an assortment of shapes that you have cut yourself, talking about each shape as you stick or glue it on.
