Quick and easy and great for younger children, this paper plate beetle is a super minibeasts craft idea and a useful way of teaching legs and pincers. Instructions below. Also useful as a scarab beetle for an Ancient Egypt theme.
You will need:
Small paper plate
Black paper or card
Paint (we used blue but you could use any colour)
Black marker pen
Glue
Instructions:
Paint your paper plate and leave to dry.
With the black pen draw on the markings of your beetle.
From black card cut two small straight black legs, two longer straight middle legs, two bent front legs and two pincers.
Glue these to the underneath of the plate rim.
