This set of mix and match cards - a 17 page pdf file - covers all the maths facts up to 10. We've designed it so that you can use it to make quick double-sided flash cards. Simply print onto paper, fold along the vertical dotted line, glue back to back and then cut around the edges of each card. Alternatively, cut all the cards separately and use them for matching games.
There are so many different ways you can use this set, which you should introduce them gradually to help children learn their number bonds as they progress up to 10. Here are just a few ideas:
- Challenge the kids to find cards which add up to a particular number ("Find me all the cards that add up to 5.")
- Give the kids a stack of cards and ask them to put them in sequence from smallest to greatest or vice versa.
- Look for the same number bond but the other way round ("Here's 4 + 0. Can you find me 0 + 5=4?")
