When I was young, autumn was a time for playing conkers ... and having brothers, I had to be quite brave about the bruises that I picked up in the games! These days "health and safety" often prevents games of conkers, but that doesn't mean the kids can't enjoy collecting these lovely autumn treasures for counting games, display etc.
