Goats
The goat was one of the first animals to be domesticated by humans, and they have been used for their milk, their hair, their meat and their skins all over the world since neolithic times. Even their dung was useful, used for fuel! There are now over 300 different kinds of goat and many people around the world still depend on them for their livelihood.
Fun Fact: Female goats are called "nannies" or "does", male goats are called "bucks" or "billies", and a baby goat is called a "kid".
As part of our farm animal theme we have a growing collection of goat colouring pages and goat printables for you to enjoy.
In the Chinese Zodiac, the next Year of the Goat (sometimes also called the Year of the Sheep or Ram) will be in 2015. We'll be expanding our offering in plenty of time for that!
