Here's a felted medal craft to do with the kids, that results in a safe medal that all ages can wear with pride! Perfect for the Olympics, of course, and a good excuse to practise some simple sewing skills.
You will need:
- Gold wool roving
- Embroidery thread
- Round cookie cutter
- Felting needle
- Ribbon
- Sewing needle
Instructions:
We used the method described here, to make a round circle of gold felt.
Cut a small slit in the felt and thread through the ribbon.
Tie the ends of the ribbon to make a loop.
Embroider (using running stitch) a message on the medal.
