Donald Trump (1946- ) is the 45th President of the United States, taking office in 2017.
Donald John Trump was born on June 14th 1946 to Fred and Mary Trump. He grew up in Queens, New York. Donald had two brothers and two sisters.
Described as an energetic child, Donald was sent to New York Military Academy when he was 13, in the hope that it would help him make good use of his energy.
After school he went to university and graduated in 1968 with a BSc in Economics. While at university he began working for the family’s real estate company ‘Elizabeth Trump and Son’, named after his grandmother.
In 1971 he took over the family business and renamed it ‘The Trump Organization’. He expanded both the real estate side of the business and the different types of business the company dealt with. He soon became a very rich man.
Donald Trump has been been married three times and has five children.
From 2003 - 2015 Donald Trump produced and hosted the TV show ‘The Apprentice’ in which contestants competed for a management job in one of Trump’s companies. He left in 2015 to concentrate on politics.
In May 2016 Donald Trump won the Republican Party nomination for US President. After a closely fought election campaign, campaigning on the slogan ‘Make America Great Again’, Trump beat the democrat Hilary Clinton in the Presidential election of November 2016.
Fun Fact: In the 1980's Donald Trump had a board game based upon him.
