Tiny Fairy Wands

These gorgeous mini wands are fun to make but take a bit of patience while you wait for them to dry at the various stages. If you are throwing a fairy party, perhaps the party child could make one for each of her guests in advance and pop them in the party bags to take home?

Tiny Fairy Wand Craft

You will need:

  • Air hardening clay
  • Small star pastry or cookie cutter
  • Thin dowelling or bamboo skewers
  • Acrylic paint
  • Glitter (preferably the same colour as your paint)
  • Acrylic varnish (optional)

Instructions:

Roll out the clay until it is about 1/4 inch thick, and then cut out a star shape using the pastry or cookie cutter.

Cut the dowelling/skewers to the required length, sand any sharp edges. Push the end of sticks into the clay stars and leave to harden.

When the wand is hard, paint one side of the star, the edges of the star and the wand stick. While the paint is wet sprinkle glitter all over the star (including the sides). Let dry and then turn over and paint the other side of the star sprinkling with glitter.

When the wand is dry, tap off any excess glitter. A coat of varnish will protect it.
