Strawberry Pincushion

Our strawberry pincushion is a cute - and useful - summer craft for kids to make! And of course it is good sewing practice, too, although even beginners will be able to manage the simple running stitch required.

You will need:

Red felt
Red fabric pen (3D)
Green felt
Red embroidery thread
Needle
Fabric glue
Stuffing

Instructions:

Cut out a circle of red felt. Decorate the felt with red fabric paint dots and leave to dry.

Sew a running stitch around the outside of the circle, leave both ends of thread untied. Place a small amount of stuffing on the centre of the circle.

Pull the ends of the thread so the circle closes like a drawstring around the stuffing. Tie the thread tightly.

Cut out a leaf shape from green felt and glue this to the top of your strawberry.
