Printing out over 4 pages, this set of Chinese New Year vocabulary matching cards comprises 8 picture cards and 8 matching word cards. Cut them out and give children both sets to match up together, or play a large "memory" game in which children should try to find and match up the pairs. You could also make a file folder game by sticking the picture cards onto the inside of a brightly coloured file folder, and asking the kids to match each picture with the correct word card.
You can use these fun cards to play a big memory game, a treasure hunt (give each child a word and send them off to look for the corresponding picture card) or for a file folder game perhaps. Or just match them up!
We have three versions of this fun labelling activity: fill in the blanks, with only the first letter, and completely blank. Choose the one that suits your child best!
Our Year of the Pig spelling jigsaw is designed to be suitable for different ages. For younger children, slice down the vertical lines but leave the letters attached to the bottom row, and they can use the letters to help them put the picture back together.
